Schrödingerʼs Room is an international conceptual architecture competition open to anyone who believes that design means creating emotions, exploring ideas, and imagining new spatial possibilities. Inspired by the renowned quantum principle of superposition—where a space can exist in multiple states simultaneously until observed—the competition invites participants to explore subjective perception and the plurality of interpretations an architectural space can generate. Participants are entrusted with designing a room, whether real or imaginary, conceived as a perceptual installation: a defined and enclosed space where light, sound, material, and human presence interact to create shifting, intimate, and personal experiences. The roomʼs dimensions are neither constrained nor limited—it can be large or small, simple or complex. What matters is the spaceʼs ability to communicate the themes of superposition and uncertainty, creating an environment that changes in meaning and atmosphere depending on who experiences it. We are not looking for conventional projects or predictable solutions. We seek ideas capable of evoking unique emotions, open questions, and unexplored possibilities. Design a space that is more than just a room.  Design an experience that challenges perception and unleashes imagination.
